Extreme enduro fans get your diaries out! The dates and venues for the 2017 British Extreme Enduro Championship have just been released and the series now has five events spread across eight months.
Paul Edmondson’s reputation for putting on top-notch events, especially extreme enduros, has seen the popularity of both extreme and hard Enduro rise sharply over the last few years and the four rounds of the 2016 British Extreme Enduro Championship were all extremely well attended so the coming season now holds five very different challenges and locations.
The championship kicks off with Eddy’s Xtreme at Tong on January 15th. This foundation stone of the series always packs in riders and spectators and is a cracking venue to start the ball rolling.
Just over three weeks later the venue is Cowm Quarry for Eddys Xtreme Cowm on February 5th. The open and flowing rock-strewn quarry has proved to be more than up to the task over the past few years and is in complete contrast to the tight and wooded Tong venue.
Next up is a new event and new venue to the series. Set in Mid Wales the Eds Of The Valley event will be the third round on February 26th, which can be classified as a hard enduro in the Welsh forests and has the hallmarks of being as big hit with ‘old school enduro’ fans.
John Kerwin’s Extreme Ravines, running on April 23rd, is a Northern favourite and really pulls in riders and crowds for a great atmosphere. As the fourth round it will possibly be significant in deciding the final outcome of the championship.
The series culminates with the H2O Extreme Classic on August 19th. This seasons first running of the Extreme Classic saw H2O prove itself as a proper extreme venue with challenges that tested the very best riders and gave the crowds a real treat with the mix of woodland, streams, rocks and ravines providing plenty of entertainment.
Entries open just after the final round of this seasons championship is completed at Westwood on December 3-4th.
