Entries open for BESC rounds 3 & 4

British Enduro Sprint Championship moves to Rogers Hill Raceway, Dorset, April 24-25, as Sunday-only Clubman/Veteran class is added to the event programme

Following on from the successful opening two rounds of the ’10 ACU British Enduro Sprint Championship series promoters/organisers GMC Events Ltd would like to announce that entries are now being taken for rounds three and four of the series, which will be staged at Rogers Hill Raceway, near Bere Regis, Dorset.

Alongside the series’ Elite, Expert and Under 23 classes a Sunday-only Clubman/Veteran class has been added to the schedule at round four, as well as also being included at round six – the final stop of the ’10 BESC series.

To avoid confusion GMC Events would like to clarify one or two points regarding Clubman and Veteran entries. As previously stated Clubman riders are welcomed and encouraged to compete in the Expert class, which is intended for both Expert level riders and, as a guide, Clubman riders that enjoy the competitive side of enduro sport and who would normally place near the top of the Clubman class results in BEC events.

The Sunday-only Clubman/Veteran class is aimed at Clubman/Veteran riders who are interested in trying their hand at the British Enduro Sprint Championship, and those who either do not want to compete for two days or feel that they are not of the suggested level. Places will be limited so interested riders are asked to enter as soon as possible.

During the first year of the BESC series GMC Events have set no hard and fast rules regarding Clubman entries. Riders are welcome to enter into the Expert class or the Clubman/Veteran class. The choice is to be made by the riders. A number of Clubman riders did compete in the Expert class at rounds one and two of the series and despite some initial apprehension and concerns that they might be a little out of their depth thoroughly enjoyed the two days.

The most southerly round of the ’10 BESC series, Rogers Hill Raceway has been developed from a private practice track into a permanent enduro facility. Offering two motocross style special tests and generous grassland areas, the facility also features an exciting extreme section, which consists of both natural and man-made obstacles.

Riders wanting to compete in rounds three and four of the British Enduro Sprint Championship can find entry forms and regulations, as well as detailed championship information, on the series’ website – www.enduro-sprint.com

Enduro Sprint – Definition (Auto Cycle Union, UK motorcycle sport governing body)

Enduro Sprint events are a test of speed, endurance and reliability, based on enduro special tests – accurately and clearly marked off-road courses. From controlled individual starts competitors are required to complete a series of timed laps.
