Melting Pot…

Just over 2 months from the 1st Grand Prix in Chile, we give you the latest news of the World Enduro.

Husaberg

The 2012 Husaberg team was nearly complete; it was missing only one rider to ride on the new 125cc in the FIM Youth Cup 125cc. It’s now done. The Swedish firm found Jamie MCCANNEY (GB) who’s the brother of the new Junior Gas Gas rider Dany MCCANNEY (GB – Gas Gas). This class, that is now open to the riders between 16 and 21 years old, seems to attract more and more teams and we should see during this season some future great riders riding in the FIM Youth Cup 125cc.

5th title targeted

Last weekend, David KNIGHT (GB – KTM) has totally dominated the second British Enduro Extreme Championship round and has benefited of it to send a clear message: this year must be the one of his 5th World title. “I’m persuaded that I’ll be ready for the first Grand Prix of the season, I really want to win this new title.” He has confided to the BBC. Having major injuries to the two hips last season and then operated in December because of two hernias, the British looks forward to arrive in good fit from the first Grand Prix. His opponents in the Enduro 3 class are informed; David KNIGHT is more motivated than ever.

Pre Riders

Jordan ROSE (GB – TM), the 4th Crossmen to join us for this new season

Jean Guillaume MEILLER, CEN President, has confirmed it end of December during the EWC Organizer’s meeting… “There will be no pre riders on the stages of the Championship from 2012.Giovanni SALA will be charged to organize a meeting for the riders on Friday to substitute this cancelation that will lighten the organizers work.

Crossmens exodus

After Ricky DIETRICH (USA – HVA), Luis CORREIA (P – Yam) and Manuel MONNI (I – KTM), a fourth Crossman integrates the EWC caravan. Indeed, the Irish team TM Electraction of Nick CRAIGIE has signed Jordan ROSE (GB) who will ride in E2 class. This ex-Crossman was one of the 5 best British riders in MX and was a part of the British Trophy Team during the last ISDE. Decidedly, the Enduro seems to be a haven for the cross riders.

TM Espana

And again a new team that join the MAXXIS FIM Enduro World Championship. TM Espana will present two riders during this 2012 season. Pau BOTELLA (E) will ride in the very spicy Enduro class while Aaron BERNARDEZ (E) will face David KNIGHT, Christophe NAMBOTIN and Joakim LJUNGGREN in the Enduro 3 class.

CURVALLE manager

Everybody was thinking that the Sherco “duo” Fabien PLANET Jordan CURVALLE will resume its service in Enduro 1 and Enduro 2. But, the sport manager job freeing itself, Jordan CURVALLE is becoming the new Sherco team manager. He ensures his reconversion but must continue to race some stages of the MAXXIS FIM Enduro World Championship.

Still here

Like the last season, we’ll find on the EWC paddocks the very sympathetic team of Marc Coma Junior Team. Managed by Miquel PUJOL, this team supported by the Dakar triple winner will still ride on KTM and will be represented by Armand MONLEON (E) who will ride in Enduro 3 but also by Alejandro BOLADO (E) and Kirian MIRABET (E), newcomer, who will be engaged in the Junior class.

Sebastien BOZZO

We left the fiery French rider with a serious injury in Mende during the Final in France. We will find him next season on the EWC on the handlebar of a Beta of the Boano Costa Ligure team. Last year, the Provencal was unlucky all season long with lot of injuries but also made a nice 5th place during the Grand Prix of Andorra. Sebastien BOZZO will really want to make a nice season and forget his 2011 setbacks.

Dakar 2012

ABC Communication and the entire EWC want to congratulate the Moto and Auto 2012 Dakar winner: Cyril DESPRES (F) and Stephane PETERHANSEL (F) but also to honor the residents and ex-residents of the MAXXIS FIM Enduro World Championship who arrived yesterday in Lima (Peru). Marc COMA (E – 2nd), Helder RODRIGUES (P – 3rd), Jordi VILADOMS (E – 4th), Stefan SVITKO (SK – 5th), Pal Anders ULLEVALSETER (N – 6th), Alessandro BOTTURI (I – 8th) have particularly illustrated themselves like Olivier PAIN (F – 9th), Joan BARREDA BORT (E – 11th) and Johnny AUBERT (F – 14th) who have also shown nice things during the 2012 Dakar. Still on the motorbike side, special thinking to Laïa SANZ (E – 39th) who has finished 1st woman for the 2nd year in a row. Finally, on the Auto side, besides Stephane PETERHANSEL, we want to congratulate Nani ROMA (E – 2nd) who finished on the 2nd step of the podium.
