It is with much sadness that we pass on received news that Mika Ahola, five time world enduro champion, has died. Details of the circumstances of his death are few, but his passing has been confirmed by Spanish magazine Motociclismo.

It is understood that Ahola crashed while training in Gerona a month ago and had been subsequently admitted to Clinica Teknon in Barcelona. Ahola is reported to have sustained internal injuries and had a kidney removed, but medical complications have subsequently taken his life.

We are both shocked and saddened by this news. Our thoughts and condolences go out to Mika’s family and friends.
