Transfers 2012
It moves in all directions!!
Gas Gas
From the Catalan firm side, the chips are down. In Enduro 2 class, Gas Gas will present Ivan CERVANTES (E) on a 450cc with Yamaha engine. After the departure of Christophe NAMBOTIN (F) to KTM, the team had to find a top rider in E3, and it’s done with the comeback of Sebastien GUILLAUME (F). After a last season “slump”, the former EEAT resident will take to heart to do better and to well represent the Gerona firm. Jordi FIGUERAS (E) will be the team mate of the Frenchie in Enduro 3 class. In E1, the red and white team has just signed the Portuguese Gonçalo REIS who will ride on the handlebar of the 250cc 4 strokes. In Women class, the Spanish puts the odds on their side by keeping Ludivine PUY (F) and by signing Laïa SANZ (E). Finally in Junior, the Catalan firm is bearing its hope on the rapid British Danny MCCANNEY who can be one of the revelations of the season for the team managed by Santi NAVARRO.
Luis OLIVEIRA
The Portuguese team CRN Fundador will not restart next season but it’s not provided that we’ll see the promising Portuguese on our Championship. Indeed, Luis OLIVEIRA (19 years old), who finished 2nd of the FIM Youth Cup 125cc last season, is creating his own private team, supported by his father, and expects to be talked about. On the other hand, we may not see Paulo FELICIA (P) next season in the World Enduro special tests.
Newcomer
After the arrival of JotaGas and the one of Bordone/Ferrari on the MAXXIS FIM Enduro World Championship, we will also find in the paddock the Swedish team Honda Johansson. This team precious to Joakim JOHANSSON has already made some appearances on the EWC like during the last season on the Grand Prix of Spain and Portugal. This team who received, from Alain BLANCHARD, the price of the best presentation on the paddock plans to continue to be talked about by its results.
Team Bordone Ferrari
We recently talked about a future Italian team with Alessandro BELOMETTI (I) as manager. This team will be the team Bordone/Ferrari (based in Milano) that hits a blow on the transfer market by enlisting two riders precious to Fabio FARIOLI: Thomas OLDRATI (I) and Jonathan MANZI (I). The convalescent OLDRATI should be in Enduro 1 while Jonathan MANZI will aim for the title in Junior. Edoardo D’AMBROSIO (I), former HM Honda resident, joins also the adventure. This three Italians, managed by Alex BELOMETTI will ride on KTM. Welcome to this new team already engaged on the Dakar and that seems to be very ambitious.
Team Yamaha O. Pons
The sympathetic Spanish team will still be present on the EWC next season. His manager Sergi DURAN told us less than a week: “Of course we’ll be back but for instance I am very busy with the Dakar with Jordi VILADOMS, and then I’ll let you know about the Enduro team.” So, we’ll see again the team Yamaha O. Pons in 2012…
Husaberg
Just like Gas Gas, Husaberg has already fixed its team for the 2012 season. No significant arrival, the Swedish firm, that will celebrate its 20 years old in 2012, has preferred to privilege the continuity by keeping Mathias BELLINO (F) in Junior, Pierre-Alexandre RENET (F) in E2 and Joakim LJUNGGREN (S) and Oriol MENA (E) in the E3 class. However Oriol MENA will ride on 4 strokes and Joakim LJUNGGREN in the 300c 2 strokes. Husaberg conserves also its supported team with the Dutch Hans VOGELS (E2) and the new recruit Alex ROCKWELL (GB – Junior). Thomas GUSTAVSSON, the manager is still looking for a young rider on his 125cc for the FIM Youth Cup 125cc.
Iron Team
We already told you about the possible comeback of this Italian team on the EWC and now it is 100% sure. This team should be composed by Andrea BELOTTI (I), Fabio MOSSINI (I) and the junior Giacomo REDONDI (I). All three should ride on KTM handlebars. We still don’t know the class in which Andrea BELOTTI and Fabio MOSSINI will compete but now it is sure, it’s a 3rd team after Bordone/Ferrari and JotaGas that joins the EWC, waiting for, maybe, the team Honda Johansson and others surprises…
Jean François GOBLET
The 2011 Best Private Rider and 2011 Belgium Champion should continue his adventure on the EWC next season. The Belgian, who made a nice 7th place last season, will still ride on a Yamaha in the Enduro 2 class. He will be supported by Yamaha Belgium.
