Danny McCanney wins in the first test of the SuperEnduro World Championship
The Atlas Arena in Lodz (Poland) hosted the first test of the SuperEnduro World Championship. One of the biggest names of the night was Danny McCanney, who debuted in an indoor event with a fantastic performance in the Junior class. The Gas Gas rider was leading the first race comfortably until a couple of mistakes relegated him to fifth position, while victory was for the local rider Pawel Szymkowski ahead of Johan Edlund and Giacomo Redondi.
But in the second race, McCanney came back aboard his Gas Gas EC 300R. Giacomo Redondi was leading the race until he had a problem with the fuel cap of his KTM. It was then when McCanney takes the lead until the end to win . With this result the Isle of Man’s rider is second in the overall standings with 30 points, just seven points off the leader, Pawel Sczymkowski.
DANNY MCCANNEY “I am very happy and surprised because it was the first time I ran one an indoor meeting. Despite a couple crashes on the first race I had a great win on the second one. I’m pleased to come away with a win and having options in the championship. “
